THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

The campaign for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico created a stir in the 1950’s when they asked a 26-year-old photographer, Elliott Erwitt to capture the culture and character of this unique travel destination.  It closely resembled a photojournalistic essay reflecting the Island’s everyday reality.

In 2010, Elliott Erwitt returned to the island revealing what had changed and what remained the same. Mr.Erwitt received top billing for the print ads with the headline “Elliott Erwitt’s Puerto Rico”.
